Dinner Theater

Zion’s Dramatic Arts will begin rehearsals in February for their 2010 dinner theater production.  Anyone interested in performing or helping behind the scenes please see Barb Hendershot.

Zion Search Committee Update

As previously reported, the Search Committee completed the Zion Church Profile in November. Copies are available in the Chapel if you are interested in looking at it. We are currently reviewing resumes from candidates and have reviewed  thirty-four so far.

Of the thirty-four resumes reviewed, three candidates look like possible fits for our church. We have checked their references and have conducted telephone interviews with these candidates.

We intend to continue to review resumes, conduct telephone and personal interviews, and our goal of calling a new pastor by June 2010 is on track. Depending on the candidate’s current obligations, he/she may be able to start in the summer but not later than September of this year.

It’s R.E.A.C.H. Bagged Lunch Time Again!

Volunteers are needed to prepare sandwiches, stuff lunch bags, and deliver them to the R.E.A.C.H. Cold Weather Shelter each evening during the two weeks, February 28 - March 13. All supplies and menus are provided. All you need to do is sign up for an evening (or two) and show up.

Most volunteers report that it takes less than one hour of time in an evening to complete this important outreach project. Please consider lending your time and talents to ensure that others in our community do not go hungry. The sign up sheet is located on the table in the chapel area.

Zion Book Group

The next meeting of the Zion Book Club will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 19 at the home of Sue Graff. There will be two books discussed: Christmas Jars and Christmas Jars Reunion by Jason Wright. The stories center around a young woman named Hope and how her life was affected by an unexpected and anonymous gift. Please join us in reading these truly inspirational books.
