Zion Church Policy for Prayer Requests

As a church, we are committed to prayer. The importance of prayer is affirmed throughout the Bible. Due to the confidential nature of many prayer requests, in 2003 the consistory established a policy for handling prayer requests because your needs are important to us.

• Prayer requests can be given to the pastor or the church office either by a phone call, an email, or by writing on the communication cards found in your pew. The pew cards may be placed in the offering plate; they will then be delivered to the church office on Monday mornings.
• Please indicate whether the pray request is to be kept private (to the pastor only) or if it can be published in the bulletin.
• If the prayer request is being made on behalf of someone else, have they given you permission to submit their name?
• Prayer requests will be published in the bulletin for up to four weeks. After four weeks, you can notify the church office if the name is to remain on the prayer list.
